Nelson Ramos
Uruguay, 1932. Passed away in Montevideo in 2006.

He studied at the National School of Fine Arts in Montevideo where he studied with Proffessor Vicente Martín. In 1959 he travelled to Río de Janeiro with a grant from ITAMARATI to study engravingtechniques with Proffessors Iberé Camargo y Johnny Friedlaender at the Museum of Modern Art. Later on he resided in Sao Paulo where he worked on textile drawing, and collaborated with the newspapers “Estado de Sao Paulo” and “Diario de Sao Paulo”.
In 1971 he foundes the “Centro de Expresión Artística”. In 1981 he was hired by the College of Art and Design of Minneapolis, USA, to dictate courses and give conferences in several universities of the cities of Saint Paul, Minneapolis y Northfield. In 1992 he resided at the Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, USA.
